I am the Climate Change Theme coordinator at Macaulay Land Use Research Institute (http://www.macaulay.ac.uk/staff/staffdetails.php?robinmatthews). My research interests are in modelling GHG emissions from the land use sector, including looking at ways to reduce these. Experience includes modelling methane emissions from ricefields in south-east Asia (http://www.macaulay.ac.uk/MERES/), reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD, http://www.redd-alert.eu/), and modelling emissions from peatlands in Scotland. I am also interested in ways of combining socio-economic processes with biophysical processes.
