I am a Senior Scientist at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in Edinburgh. Following graduation from the University of Nottingham with BSc and PhD degrees in Environmental Physics, I moved to the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology in Edinburgh to work on the land-atmosphere exchange of trace gases and aerosols. I gained an Honorary Professorship at the University of Nottingham in 1991, became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1999, and Fellow of the Royal Society of London in 2002. My research interests are on surface atmosphere exchange processes, emissions of greenhouse gases, photochemical oxidants, acid deposition, atmospheric aerosols and effects of pollutants on vegetation.
